titleOfInvention Document reading device
abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To electrically correct in the sub-scanning direction very accurately, to suppress fluctuations in the amount of light in the main scanning with a simple configuration, and to achieve shading even in long-time flow reading. Provided is a document reading apparatus capable of obtaining a good image. SOLUTION: In a second mode in which original data is read by moving the original while the mirror base 20 is stationary, Prior to reading a document, the light source 3 of the scanning optical system is moved to a moving document reading position where a first reference member is provided above the document table 12 to perform shading correction, and then the light source 3 is moved to a fixed document reading position. Then, the shading correction by the second reference member is performed outside the document reading unit in the main scanning direction. The metal member 11 for heat radiation is brought into direct contact with the light source 3. Alternatively, air may be applied to the light source 3 by a fan.
