titleOfInvention | Magnetic recording media |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase noise due to high output and storage in short wavelength recording with a central recording wavelength of 0.8 μm or less required for a small and high quality video tape. The present invention provides a magnetic recording medium with reduced noise. SOLUTION: A magnetic film containing a metal magnetic powder is provided on one surface of a support, and a back coat containing carbon black of primary particles or agglomerates having a diameter larger than the major axis diameter of the metal magnetic powder is provided on the other surface. And a cellulosic derivative is contained in the above-described back coat layer, and enters into the gap of the carbon black in the back coat layer to form a surface of the back coat layer. A magnetic recording medium characterized by containing a powder having a small particle size that does not protrude into the magnetic recording medium. |
