abstract | (57) Abstract: Provided is a liquid crystal sealant capable of bonding upper and lower glass substrates at the time of manufacturing a liquid crystal cell and providing a cured product excellent in adhesive strength, moisture resistance reliability and flexibility. A liquid crystal sealant comprising an epoxy resin, a diaryliodonium type polymerization initiator, a photosensitizer and a filler as essential components, wherein the diaryliodonium type polymerization initiator is represented by the following formula: (In the formula (1), R represents an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, etc., Ar represents an aromatic ring, and l represents an integer of 0 to 50) and a cation moiety represented by the formula (2) [MX- 4 ]. - (2) (In the formula (2), M represents As, P, Sb or B, X is a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom and the formula (3) (In the formula (3), Y represents a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom or a bromine atom, m is an integer of 0 to 5, n is an integer of 0 to 5, and m + n is 2 to 5).
