abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a method for easily obtaining an optically active ester of high optical purity in a high yield. SOLUTION: A 2-hydroxy fatty acid ester containing an R-form and an S-form represented by the general formula [I] is stereoselectively esterified with one of the R-form and S-form optical isomers of the ester. In the presence of the resulting enzyme, the hydroxy group of the one optical isomer is stereoselectively esterified by reacting with an esterifying agent in an organic solvent to obtain a compound of the general formula [II] And the other optically active alcohol represented by the general formula [III] is left.
