titleOfInvention | Method for producing silver halide photographic emulsion and silver halide photographic material using the silver halide photographic emulsion |
abstract | (57) [Problem] To provide a silver halide emulsion having good sensitivity, granularity, and sharpness. SOLUTION: In a process for producing a photographic silver halide emulsion containing tabular grains which form grains through respective steps of nucleation, ripening and grain growth in a dispersion medium, the tabular grains have an average aspect ratio of 5 or more and 100 or more. Wherein at least the grain growth is carried out in the presence of at least 40% by weight of the dispersion medium of a chemically modified gelatin represented by the following general formula 1 or a low molecular weight gelatin having a weight average molecular weight of 1,000 to 70,000: Production method of silver halide photographic emulsion. General formula 1 Gel-NH-L-COOH Here, Gel represents a gelatin polypeptide. -NH- Represents a group derived from an amino group in the gelatin polypeptide. L represents (i) a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene having 1 to 5 carbon atoms or a substituted or unsubstituted alkenylene group having 2 to 5 carbon atoms, (ii) -C (= O) -R- (where R Represents a divalent linking group selected from the group consisting of a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a substituted or unsubstituted alkenylene group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms). |
