abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To effectively utilize a space on the back side of a liquid crystal panel as a storage space for a power supply. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal display element provided with a backlight, and has a polymer battery mounted on the back side of the backlight. Preferably, the polymer battery is removable. Since the polymer battery does not have a fear of electrolyte leakage, a laminate film or the like can be used for the exterior, and the degree of freedom in shape is high. Moreover, the thickness can be reduced. Therefore, by incorporating this into a liquid crystal display device, the battery capacity can be greatly increased without substantially increasing the external dimensions.
