abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extremely thin biaxially oriented polyester film for a capacitor which is excellent in workability, particularly slitting property, and can increase the capacity of the capacitor. SOLUTION: The composition contains 0.1 to 2% by weight of porous silica fine particles having an average particle size of 0.5 to 5 µm, and 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid as a main dicarboxylic acid component and ethylene glycol as a main glycol component. And a copolymer having an isophthalic acid component of 0.5 to 8 mol% (based on the total dicarboxylic acid component) and a diethylene glycol component content of 3 mol% (based on the total glycol component) or less. A biaxially oriented film comprising polyethylene-2,6-naphthalate, wherein the copolymerized polyethylene-2,6-naphthalate specifies a manganese compound, an antimony compound used as a reaction catalyst, and a phosphorus compound used as a stabilizer. And the content of alkali metal is 10 ppm or less, and the plane orientation coefficient of the film is 0.1 ppm or less. 30 or 0.270 or less, and the biaxially oriented polyester film for capacitor, wherein the density is 1.350 g / cm 3 or more.
