titleOfInvention Liquid crystal alignment film, method of manufacturing the same, and liquid crystal display
abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] A liquid crystal alignment film for a liquid crystal display device prepared by irradiating a photoreactive polymer with light, and a method for producing the same. [Constitution] A photoreactive polymer represented by Chemical Formula 7 is coated on a substrate to form a film. In the film, the side chains of the polymer are non-oriented, but are irradiated or irradiated with a UV lamp, a power supply and / or a device comprising an optical element (for example, a Glan-Taylor prism) for converting natural light into polarized light, or the substrate normal. When irradiation is performed in a direction oblique to the direction, the photocrosslinking reaction of the photosensitive component in only a specific direction is promoted, and an anisotropic film is formed. When the liquid crystal molecules come into contact with the polymer film, the liquid crystal molecules are arranged by the interaction, and can form a liquid crystal alignment film. The polymer can provide a liquid crystal alignment function with a relatively small amount of irradiation energy, so that an effective liquid crystal alignment film for a liquid crystal display device can be provided without lengthening the alignment processing time.
