abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved material and a photomask suitable for producing a flexographic printing plate by direct exposure to heat or light and characterized by high flexibility, high speed and high image quality. To provide a simple material which does not require a wet treatment for production and which does not generate debris upon direct exposure. A material is disclosed that is suitable for the manufacture of flexographic printing plates and comprises, in the order given, a base, a photopolymer layer, and a photo-print or print-recording layer containing an organic silver salt. . A photomask is obtained by exposing the recording layer image-wise, through which the photopolymer layer can be subsequently exposed. Using a suitable solvent, the (photo) raised print recording layer can be removed in a single development step and the unexposed areas of the photopolymer layer can be washed away at the same time. The relief image thus obtained can be used as a printing master for flexographic printing. |
