titleOfInvention Cobalt-dissolved nickel hydroxide powder for positive electrode active material of alkaline storage battery and method for producing the same
abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To achieve a much higher utilization rate than conventional nickel hydroxide powder without relying on improvement in conductivity between active materials or between a positive electrode substrate and an active material. An object of the present invention is to obtain a nickel hydroxide powder improved to a much higher level. According to the present invention, cobalt is converted to metal equivalent. A nickel hydroxide powder in which at least one element selected from zinc, cadmium, magnesium, calcium, and manganese is dissolved in a range of 0 to 10% by weight while being solid-dissolved in a range of 0.5 to 10% by weight; Thus, there is provided a nickel hydroxide powder for an alkaline storage battery positive electrode active material containing trivalent nickel and trivalent cobalt in a total amount of 15% or less based on the total amount of nickel and cobalt.
