abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber material composed of a polysaccharide containing a specific carboxyl group, a method for producing the same, and a molded article having a high effect of adsorbing additives. SOLUTION: The fiber material comprises a polysaccharide such as cellulose, an N-oxyl compound (such as 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidine N-oxyl), a bromide (such as sodium bromide) or iodine. And a polysaccharide in which a primary hydroxyl group of a glucose residue has been oxidized to a carboxyl group using an oxidizing agent in the presence of a saccharide. The specific tensile index of the fiber material is 35 N ยท m / g or more, and the water retention value is 20 0% or less. The molded article is composed of the fiber material.
