abstract | (57) Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a catalyst for producing methacrolein and methacrylic acid which gives methacrolein and methacrylic acid in a high yield during gas-phase catalytic oxidation of isobutane. A catalyst for producing methacrolein and methacrylic acid by subjecting isobutane to gas-phase catalytic oxidation with molecular oxygen, comprising a solid acid catalyst containing at least molybdenum, phosphorus and vanadium (component (A)) and molybdenum A catalyst for producing methacrolein and methacrylic acid, comprising an oxide or the like (component (B)) in a proportion of 1 to 100 parts by weight of component (B) based on 100 parts by weight of component (A). |
