titleOfInvention | Secreted acid phosphatase |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secretory acid phosphatase gene and a method for imparting low phosphorus tolerance to plants using the gene. It also provides a method for secreting an arbitrary protein out of a cell using a secretion signal. Further, a method for binding an arbitrary protein to the root surface is provided by using a peptide that binds to the root surface. SOLUTION: A secretory acid phosphatase whose expression is induced in a large amount in a lupine root by phosphate starvation is purified, and its gene and secretory signal peptide and a peptide that binds to the root surface are isolated. A secreted acid phosphatase is expressed in a transformed plant into which an expression vector in which this gene is connected downstream of a promoter that functions in the plant is incorporated. Alternatively, any protein is linked to this secretion signal and secreted extracellularly. Alternatively, any protein is linked to a binding peptide to the root surface and bound to the root surface. |
