PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently oxidize a cycloalkane as a substrate with molecular oxygen under mild conditions to obtain a target oxidized compound with a high reaction conversion and selectivity. SOLUTION: A cycloalkane (substrate) is oxidized by molecular oxygen in the presence of an oxidation catalyst composed of an imide compound such as N-hydroxyphthalimide and a cobalt compound. The amount of the imide compound to be used is 0.001 to 1 mol with respect to 1 mol of the substrate, and the ratio of the imide compound represented by the general formula (1) to the cooxidant is imide compound / cooxidant = 95. / 5 to 5/95 (molar ratio). Oxidation of cyclohexane gives cyclohexanone, cyclohexanol or adipic acid. |
