abstract |
(57) [Problem] To provide a nucleic acid encoding a protein having an apoptosis-inducing action derived from a butterfly of the genus Pieris. Another object of the present invention is to provide a gene therapy agent for malignant tumor. SOLUTION: Using a PCR primer corresponding to a partial amino acid sequence of Pierisin purified and isolated from a butterfly of the genus Pieris, a cDNA encoding the full length of Pierisin is cloned, and the cDNA is expressed in a cell-free system. The apoptotic cell death activity on cancer cells was examined, and it was confirmed that the expressed protein had the same molecular weight as that of Pierisin derived from Pieris sp. But had the same apoptosis-inducing activity. |
