(57) [Problem] To provide a photoelectrochemical cell excellent in photoelectric conversion characteristics and durability. A photovoltaic device comprising a conductive support, a semiconductor-containing layer having an optimum thickness coated on the conductive support, an electrolyte-containing layer containing 50% by weight or more of an iodine salt, and a counter electrode. A light-regeneration electrochemical cell is constituted by the conversion element. |
