abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photothermographic material and an image forming method, and in particular, to provide a photothermographic material and an image forming method suitable for printing plate making. An object of the present invention is to provide a photothermographic material and an image forming method which are excellent in reproducibility of small spots at the time, are excellent in transportability, pinholes at the time of exposure, and scratch resistance, have high Dmax, are high-contrast, and are capable of ultra-rapid processing. SOLUTION: In a photothermographic material having a silver salt of an organic acid, a silver halide, a binder, a reducing agent, and a toning agent on a support, a photosensitive layer is provided on one side of the support. The center line average roughness Ra of the surface of the outermost layer on the side having (E) (μm), the ten-point average roughness Rz is expressed as Rz (E) (μ m) and when the maximum roughness Rt is Rt (E) (μm), 0.05 ≦ Ra (E) ≦ 1 1.5 ≦ Rz (E) ≦ 10 2.0 ≦ Rt (E) ≦ 12 A photothermographic material characterized by satisfying 10 ≦ Rz (E) / Ra (E) ≦ 70. |
