abstract | (57) Summary The clonixin derivative of formula (I), or 4-nitroxybutyl clonixiate, is a novel non-ulcer-inducing analgesic / anti-inflammatory product, mainly with a surprisingly high anti-inflammatory effect As a result (2 times the clonixic acid), there is a very good balance between high analgesic / anti-inflammatory effects and low ulcerogenic adverse effects. Compound (I) is prepared by reacting 4-chlorobutyl clonixiate with silver nitrate in acetonitrile. 4-Chlorobutylchronixiate is prepared by the reaction of 1-bromo-4-chlorobutane with alkali clonixiate in acetonitrile. 4-Nitrooxybutyl clonixiate (I) is particularly useful as an active ingredient for treating pain and / or inflammation in mammals. |
