abstract | (57) [Summary]n(A) reacting 5-formylvaleronitrile with ammonia and hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst selected from the metals or metal compounds of the rhenium, copper and Group VIIIb elements to drain the hydrogenation reaction mixture (B) isolating 6-aminocapronitrile or 6-aminocapronitrile and hexamethylenediamine from this effluent, provided that the hydrogenation catalyst is copper, nickel or copper and nickel alone. A process for producing 6-aminocapronitrile or a mixture of 6-aminocapronitrile and hexamethylenediamine, characterized in that it is not contained as a component. |
