titleOfInvention Reconstruction of CT images of slices with turning motion
abstract SUMMARY An apparatus and method for CT image reconstruction of a tipping slice uses a helical cone beam scan to generate a set of projection data. Three-dimensional projection data is used to reconstruct a series of flat image slices. The slices (132) are selected so that they define a tilt angle and a rotation angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the object being scanned. Successive slices (132) have the same tilt angle (θ), but the rotation angle (φ) varies, and the normal axis (140) of successive slices (132) defines the translocation motion, and the selected one-dimensional From the fan beam data. Therefore, the projection data can be applied to a normal two-dimensional reconstruction method to generate an image.
