abstract | (57) [Summary]nDental resins and dental compositions using such resins are described. This dental composition contains calcium hydroxide (or calcium oxide) and is particularly useful as a cavity lining and root canal sealant used to deliver calcium to the exposed pulp. The resins and resin-containing formulations include eutectic mixtures of multifunctional salicylates. In particular, transesterification of a mixture of trimethylolpropane and neopentyl glycol with methyl salicylate results in a mixture of trimethylolpropane trisalicylate and neopentyl glycol disalicylate, as contemplated by the present invention. |
