(57) [Summary]nTo a human or animal subject in need thereof, a therapeutically or prophylactically effective low dose of selectively increasing the supply of oxygenated blood to the liver by increasing the inflow of the hepatic artery. A method of treating a liver disease selected from the group consisting of cirrhosis, liver damage due to poisons and drugs, parenchymal liver damage, or hepatitis, comprising administering a vasodilator. In an aspect of the invention, the effective amount of a low concentration of a vasodilator administered decreases with increasing severity of the condition being treated. |
