abstract | (57) [Summary]nMethods and compositions for determining the status of a tumor suppressor of a cell are described. Preferably, it involves determining the p53 status of the tumor cells. Preferably, a recombinant construct comprising a first polynucleotide sequence encoding a reporter molecule, and a second p53 binding polynucleotide sequence operably linked to the first polynucleotide sequence is obtained in vivo. As used herein, binding of p53 to a second polynucleotide sequence induces expression of a detectable or quantifiable reporter molecule. |
