abstract SUMMARY The present invention relates to a method and apparatus in a special purpose network for synchronizing multiple wireless transceiver configurations of different characteristics using a common air interface. Each transceiver arrangement comprises at least two transceivers communicating with each other via a wireless transmission link, all transceivers comprising two alternating beacon pulse train signals (TX 1 , TX 1) having the same repetition rate. TX 2 ). The transceiver listens to its strongest of the two beacon pulse train signals during one of a corresponding set of time windows (RX 1 , RX 2 ) with its internal timer controlling the signal transmission from those transceivers. Line and sync. Between the reception of two beacon pulses, each transceiver transmits the beacon pulse itself, thus contributing to the generation of another beacon pulse train signal that the other transceiver can lock.
