titleOfInvention | Organic hydride siloxane resin with low organic content |
abstract | (57) [Summary]nDisclosed are organohydridosiloxane polymers having a cage conformation, between about 0.1 and 40 mole percent of carbon-containing substituents, and a dielectric constant of about 3.0 or less. Each silicon atom of the cage polymer is bound to at least three oxygen atoms and either one hydrogen atom or one organic substituent. Providing such a cage structure, essentially free of hydroxyl or alkoxy substituents on the polymer backbone or terminal silicon atom, essentially eliminates long-chain polymerization in solution. . To aid in the condensation of the hydridotrihalosilane with the at least one organotrihalosilane, from about 400 to about 200,000 atomic mass units using a binary solvent system and either a solid phase or phase transfer catalyst. Such organohydridosiloxane resins having a molecular weight in the range have been prepared. |
