titleOfInvention | Monoclonal antibodies to detect cell killing antigen |
abstract | (57) Abstract: A monoclonal antibody that specifically binds to an antigen on a mitochondrial membrane in cell-depleted cells. The antigen is a 38 KD protein that can be detected in cells undergoing apoptosis but not in normal cells. The selectivity of this monoclonal antibody provides a way to distinguish between normal and apoptotic cells in a sample of a human hematopoietic cell population. Methods for detecting and measuring cells undergoing cell killing are also provided. |
