abstract |
(57) Abstract Multilayer polyester films and methods for making the same are provided. The film consists of alternating layers of polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylene naphthalate. These materials are biaxially stretched and the resulting suppression of thermosetting results in thin films having a tensile modulus in both stretching directions that is significantly greater than that obtained with an integral film of either material. Can be In some embodiments, the film is provided with a slippery surface without using a conventional slip agent. |
