titleOfInvention | Non-polymeric epoxy compounds for cross-linking biological tissue and bioprosthetic implants prepared therefrom |
abstract | (57) Abstract: Non-polymeric epoxy compounds for cross-linking biological tissues, and bioprosthetic materials prepared therefrom. The non-polymeric epoxy compounds of the present invention have the following general structural formula: R 1 —CH 2 —OXO—CH 2 —R 2 ; where X is a) at least 4 and at most 5 directly to each other A linear aliphatic hydrocarbon having a bonded carbon atom (the linear aliphatic hydrocarbon has no side chain and has a terminal carbon atom at either end thereof; The terminal carbon atom at the end of the aromatic hydrocarbon is bonded to the oxygen atom shown in the above general formula), b) substituted aromatic hydrocarbon, or c) substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic cyclic And at least one of the terminal groups R 1 or R 2 is an epoxy group, and the other of such terminal groups R 1 or R 2 is a) an epoxy group, b) an aldehyde group , C) isocyanate groups or d) thiocyanate groups. One preferred crosslinking agent of the above general formula is 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether. The crosslinker of the present invention is preferably utilized in the absence of collagen or other chemicals (eg, homologues, molecular fragments, impurities) that react with the crosslinker of the present invention. |
