A method and apparatus for in vivo electroporation therapy (100). Using electroporation therapy (EPT) as described above, treating tumors by a combination of electroporation using the device (100) of the present invention and a chemotherapeutic agent causes tumor regression in vivo. In one example, an EPT method utilizing low voltage long pulse length to kill cells is provided. One example of the present invention, a system for clinical electroporation, includes a needle array electrode (114) having a "key" element that determines a set point of a therapy voltage pulse and / or a selective array switching pattern. Multiple electrode applicator designs allow for access and treatment of various tissue sites. In another aspect, a laparoscopic needle applicator is provided, which is preferably used in combination with an endoscope for minimally invasive EPT. |
