titleOfInvention | Assays using reference microparticles |
abstract | (57) [Summary]nDisclosed is an assay method for determining the presence of at least one analyte in a sample, the assay method comprising: (a) converting a sample to a predetermined amount of a second molecule having a binding molecule that binds to a first analyte disposed thereon. Mixing with the first test microparticles to form a reaction mixture and binding the first binding molecule to the first analyte; and (b) unreacted first test microparticles and reference microparticles. Counting and (c) establishing a first test value by comparing the number of unreacted first test microparticles to a reference microparticle to determine the presence of a first analyte in the sample. And a step. In a preferred embodiment, the first test value is compared to a control value of a non-responsive sample to calculate a change value. In addition, compositions and kits containing microparticles are disclosed. |
