abstract (57) Abstract: A method for preparing an amorphous carbon material for use as an electrode, such as an anode in an electrochemical cell. Amorphous carbon is produced from a multifunctional organic monomer in one heating step. Material is reheated then LiNO 3, Li 3 PO 4 or in the presence of a lithium salt such as LiOH. The electrode so produced can be incorporated as its anode (20) into an electrochemical cell (10).
