abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a developing method which gives a high quality color image in a non-magnetic one-component developing method. SOLUTION: A developing roll and a toner supply member for supplying toner on the development roll are provided. The non-magnetic toner is supplied from the toner supply member to the development roll, and a charged toner layer formed on the development roll is used. In an image forming method using a one-component developing device for developing, a non-magnetic toner is composed of four independent organic groups on a boron atom (each of which may be the same, and any two organic groups may be bonded to each other). (A) may form a ring together with boron (B) as a central atom.) And a hydrogen cation having a smaller molecular size than the boron-containing organic anion component (A). An organic boron compound comprising a cationic component (D) selected from an alkali metal cation, an ammonium cation, an organic amine cation, and the like ( A) An image forming method, characterized in that the toner is a negatively-chargeable color toner containing AD).
