Storage stable foam forming system |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a foam-forming preparation which can be stored for a predetermined period of time at atmospheric temperature and atmospheric pressure. SOLUTION: The phenolic or alkylphenol having at least one phenolic hydroxyl group is contained in the isocyanate-reactive composition in an amount sufficient to promote the solubility of the blowing agent, so that the ambient temperature and the atmospheric pressure are increased. A storage-stable isocyanate-reactive composition is generally prepared which contains a gaseous blowing agent. The isocyanate-reactive composition is stored under atmospheric conditions rather than under pressure. After storage for three months at ambient temperature and pressure, the isocyanate-reactive composition containing a blowing agent can be used to produce foams having good physical properties. |
