(57) [Summary] [Object] It is an object of the present invention to provide a nickel-metal hydride battery having a high active material utilization rate and excellent high-rate discharge characteristics. A nickel electrode in which a porous metal substrate is filled with an active material mainly composed of nickel hydroxide, wherein the porous metal substrate is etched and cobalt-plated to form a nickel electrode for an alkaline storage battery. Thus, the above object can be achieved. |
