abstract (57) [Problem] To provide n wavelengths with one kind of light source, A wavelength multiplex light source capable of easily providing a wavelength light source used for transmission and changing a wavelength to be multiplexed by the wavelength multiplex light source and changing the number of wavelength multiplexes easily and at high speed. SOLUTION: A white light source 12 outputs broadband white light, and an optical demultiplexer 13 outputs inputted white light as wavelengths at fixed intervals. The wavelength output from the optical demultiplexer 13 is output as necessary m wavelengths by the shutter control of the switch 14. The modulator 15 modulates the output m wavelengths. The optical multiplexer 16 wavelength-multiplexes the m wavelengths from the modulator 15 into one. The optical amplifier 17 amplifies and outputs the multiplexed light.
