titleOfInvention Method for producing alkylphenol
abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a method for efficiently producing an alkylphenol from an aromatic aldehyde by a safer method. SOLUTION: Formic acid obtained by reacting an aromatic aldehyde having at least one alkyl group with formic acid and hydrogen peroxide water in the presence of an organic solvent that does not substantially dissolve water to synthesize allyl formate is obtained. Hydrolyze the allyl ester.
