PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient and effective method for increasing the ozone concentration of a produced ozone-oxygen gas mixture without significantly increasing the cost of producing the ozone-oxygen gas mixture. . SOLUTION: An ozone-oxygen gas stream generated by feeding oxygen into an ozone generator is introduced into a membrane separation unit including an ozone dialysis membrane. Ozone-enriched gas passes through the membrane and is collected or comes into contact with a liquid or gas stream containing an ozone-reactive substance, thereby oxidizing the substance. The oxygen-enriched gas stream generated on the feed side of the membrane by permeation of ozone through the membrane is recycled to the ozone generator. Prior to recirculation, the oxidized enriched stream may be purified to remove gaseous impurities permeating through the membrane from the liquid or gas stream being treated. |
