abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a (meth) acrylonitrile-based crosslinked polymer having a shorter fiber shape or a shape similar thereto, which is smaller than conventional products, has excellent mechanical strength and high-temperature stability, and can be used for various applications. I do. Further, the present invention provides a production method capable of directly obtaining by polymerization the (meth) acrylonitrile-based crosslinked polymer having a high productivity, a low cost, and the above-mentioned short fibrous or similar shape. SOLUTION: The shape is a short fiber having a short axis diameter of 0.05 to 50 μm, a long axis diameter of 0.1 to 500 μm, and a ratio of short axis diameter to long axis diameter (aspect ratio) of 2 to 100. Or a (meth) acrylonitrile-based crosslinked polymer in which one or more needle-like objects project radially from spherical particles and have a crosslinked structure in a polymer molecular chain, and A monomer mixture containing (meth) acrylonitrile, a polymerizable monomer component having a monomer containing two or more polymerizable double bond groups in a molecule as an essential component, and an oil-soluble polymerization initiator. And a method for producing a short fibrous or sac-like (meth) acrylonitrile-based crosslinked polymer, which is polymerized in a state of being dispersed in an aqueous medium so as to form fine droplets.
