titleOfInvention Method for recovering capacity of alkaline storage battery and charger for alkaline storage battery
abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To suppress a decrease in capacity of a battery whose open-circuit voltage has decreased due to long-term storage or the like. A positive electrode using an active material mainly composed of nickel hydroxide contains at least one substance selected from the group consisting of a cobalt compound and metallic cobalt, and has an open circuit voltage of 0.1 to 0.1. The amount of electricity corresponding to 5 to 160% of the rated capacity is charged to the alkaline storage battery reduced to 9 V with a current larger than the current value corresponding to the self-discharge rate and 0.05 CmA or less with respect to the rated capacity.
