titleOfInvention | Surface plasmon light modulator |
abstract | (57) [Summary] [Object] To obtain a large modulation degree and a stable modulation operation in a surface plasmon light modulation element. SOLUTION: The dielectric block 11 is arranged such that the modulated light 10 is incident on one surface 11a through the inside thereof at a total reflection angle. A metal film 20, an optical functional film 13 formed on the metal film 20, the refractive index of which changes by light irradiation, and a driving light source 15 for irradiating the optical functional film 13 with modulation driving light 14. In the surface plasmon light modulation device composed of the following, the metal film 20 is a silver film, and the oxygen blocking film 21 is formed on the optical functional film 13. |
