abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a magnetic recording medium in which magnetic powder is well dispersed, has high heat resistance, and does not seize even when heated at the time of high-temperature pressing, and each constituent layer is formed of a chlorine-free material. To provide a magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: For forming a magnetic recording medium, an easily releasable protective layer mainly composed of a binder resin component, a magnetic layer and an adhesive layer are laminated in this order on a peelable non-magnetic support. When forming a magnetic recording medium using the thermal transfer laminate, the binder resin of the magnetic layer contains an acrylic copolymer containing a radical polymerizable monomer having a hydrophilic polar group and a urethane resin. A magnetic recording medium is formed by using the laminated body for thermal transfer and transferring the laminated structure on the laminated body for thermal transfer to a nonmagnetic support containing no chlorine.
