abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester excellent in solvent resistance such as heat resistance, molding processability and alkali resistance, mechanical properties and biodegradability. SOLUTION: This is composed of a 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid unit and a 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol unit, and a trans-1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid unit and a cis-1,4-cyclo-1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid unit. The molar ratio with the cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid unit is 60:40 to 100: 0, and the trans-1,4 in 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol unit is used. The molar ratio of cyclohexanedimethanol units to cis-1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol units is 40:60. The above problem is solved by a polyester having a ratio of 100100: 0.
