PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly productive production method capable of stably granulating lithium sintered titanate fine particles having a high density and a high sphericity by a gelation method. A raw material powder containing lithium and titanium is dispersed in an aqueous solution of a binder of an alginate compound, and droplets of this dispersion liquid are dropped through a nozzle into a liquid bath for gelation containing polyvalent metal ions. Spherical gel particles having lithium titanate dispersed therein are formed in the liquid bath, and the spherical gel particles are washed, dried, calcined to remove polyvalent metals by heating, and further sintered. |
