PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic medium for isolating and identifying a production bioactive component and a metabolic component in which lactic acid bacteria exert a special function in a host organism. SOLUTION: A lactic acid bacterium such as Lactobacillus or Bifidobacterium is cultured in a synthetic medium having a composition characterized by containing two kinds of free bases, one kind of ribonucleoside and two kinds of 2'-deoxynucleosides.
