abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To protect a wound by absorbing a large amount of exudate from the wound surface and gelling, to form a moist environment suitable for wound healing by appropriately retaining and evaporating moisture, and Provided is a wound dressing material which has a small amount of residues derived from materials and is excellent in safety. SOLUTION: A wound made of fibers obtained by subjecting a spinning solution obtained by dissolving or dispersing a polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer to a solvent or a dispersion medium mainly composed of an organic solvent in a solidification bath by wet gel spinning or dry-wet gel spinning. The above problem is solved by the covering material.
