abstract | (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To prevent the transfer belt or intermediate transfer belt from being scratched by a magnetic carrier in a two-component developer, and to prevent back stains or transfer failure of an image due to poor cleaning of these belts. An object of the present invention is to provide an image forming apparatus capable of obtaining a good quality image. SOLUTION: As a magnetic carrier, a resin magnetic carrier having a core formed by a polymerization method comprising a binder resin, a magnetic metal oxide and a non-magnetic metal oxide is used. Since the resin magnetic carrier has a spherical shape and a soft surface made of resin, even if the resin magnetic carrier is rubbed with a transfer material conveying belt or the like, the surface of the belt can be prevented from being damaged. |
