(57) Abstract: A polymerization catalyst and a method for producing a copolymer capable of efficiently and inexpensively producing an olefin-styrene copolymer are provided. SOLUTION: (A) a transition metal compound, (B) an oxygen-containing compound and/or a compound capable of reacting with a transition metal compound to form an ionic complex, (C) a specific metal compound, preferably a specific organic compound An olefin-styrene polymerization catalyst comprising an aluminum compound and (D) an alkylating agent which is optionally used.
