abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high-concentration cyclohexanone oxime, 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9-octahydrophenazine, 3-N-methyl-4,5,6,7 as impurities -To provide a process for producing ε-caprolactam, which can economically remove these impurities to a high degree from crude ε-caprolactam containing tetrahydrobenzimidazole and caprenolactams. SOLUTION: A crude ε-caprolactam is crystallized using a hydrocarbon-based solvent, and then brought into contact with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst to produce ε-caprolactam. |
