abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter which has a columnar convex portion for setting the thickness of a liquid crystal layer and enables stable production of a plasma addressed liquid crystal display having excellent display quality. SOLUTION: A substrate is provided with a color filter which is disposed opposite to a back plate having a discharge channel between partition walls via a liquid crystal layer to constitute a plasma addressed liquid crystal display, and Colored layers of a plurality of colors formed in a predetermined pattern on the substrate, and columnar convex portions formed at a plurality of portions on the substrate, A transparent electrode formed on the colored layer of each color was provided, and the portion of the color filter where the columnar convex portions were formed was located on the partition wall portion of the back plate when the color filters were arranged opposite to each other.
