abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the pot life of a pre-coating solution, the preservability of a raw film, fog, etc., and to improve the sharpness of an image and a gradation part, for a heat developable photosensitive material. A polyvinyl acetal resin, a modified polyvinyl acetal resin for a heat-developable photosensitive material, and a heat-developable photosensitive material are obtained. A polyvinyl acetal resin or a modified polyvinyl acetal resin having a modifying group having a hydrophilic group such as a carboxyl group in a side chain. And the degree of polymerization is 200 to 3000 and the ratio of residual acetyl groups is 0-2. 5 mol%, the ratio of residual hydroxyl groups is in the range of 17 to 35 mol%, contains no antioxidant, and has a residual halide content of 100 ppm or less. In particular, those having an amount of residual alkaline substance of 0.01% by weight or less are preferable. |
